Lost Horizons
is a budget category lodge situated on the Zambian side
of the majestic and breathtaking Victoria Falls. From its
hilltop position around 3 kilometers from the Falls, the
lodge commands spectacular views of the mighty Zambezi
River, and is surrounded by natural bush.
The area is well known for its abundant
birdlife and frequented by various types of wildlife on their
way to the Zambezi. Lost Horizons is situated only a few
kilometres from Livingstone airport where transfers are available
to the lodge.
The lodge has 14 basic but comfortable
and spacious en-suite chalets, plus a well-appointed, cosy
and central dining and entertainment area. The chalets are
spacious, with open gauze windows and a ceiling fan to cool
you down.
The chalets are well positioned to give
you a panoramic view of the Mosi-oa-Tunya National park and
the Zambezi valley.
There are numerous
activities to partake in, around the Falls. These include
elephant back safaris, flights over the falls, guided walks
etc.
If it is excitement you want, Lost Horizons is right in
the middle of Zambia’s adventure playground. There
is bungee jumping, jet boating, rafting, helicopters, microlite
flips, gorge swing, ballooning and game viewing, to mention
a few of the adrenaline pumping activities available.
Game drives through Mosi-oa-Tunya National
Park provides you with the opportunity to see white rhinos
(the only in Zambia), buffalos, elephants, hippopotamus,
giraffes, impalas, bushbucks, warthogs and numerous other
small animals
A guided two to three-hour game walk through
the park is recommended for the eager bird watcher.
The cool swimming pool at the lodge allows
you to break free from the African sun and enjoy the peace
and tranquillity of Zambia. At night, enjoy a sundowner on
the terrace, watching the sunset and blazing sky, which may
be enjoyed from around the campfire or barbeque.
